Cedar Rapids Public Library Announces Inside Out with Alton Brown

Alton BrownThe Cedar Rapids Public Library is proud to present Inside Out with Alton Brown Friday, September 9, at 7:30 pm, at Theatre Cedar Rapids. Brown is the author of several award-winning and bestselling books and the host of the Food Network series Good Eats. He reprises his role as the resident food historian, scientist and commentator on Food Network’s series Iron Chef America.

Cookbooks are among the library’s most highly circulated items, making award-winning chef and author Alton Brown a great choice for this year’s inaugural speaker. The Inside Out series is a new event presented by the Cedar Rapids Public Library. This new annual series is designed to introduce the community to remarkable celebrity authors, attract a varied audience, and increase awareness and support for the Library.

Tickets are $30 and go on sale August 9 through the Theatre Cedar Rapids box office. A limited number of tickets are available for an additional $95 to attend a pre-show cocktail reception with special guest Alton Brown in the Linge Lounge. Ticket proceeds support the Cedar Rapids Public Library. Inside Out with Alton Brown is sponsored by the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation.

Brown will sign copies of his books following his appearance. Barnes & Noble Booksellers will be on hand for anyone wishing to purchase a book, and a portion of the sales that night will go to support the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
